Did you know that 57% of women are the key decision-makers when it comes to buying a new car?1
While many key shopping criteria will be shared by all car buyers, we thought we’d delve into some of the more detailed attributes that could be the difference when it comes to choosing a new car.
So, we enlisted the help of women across our business to explore some of their must-have features.
Safety tends to be at the top of the list when considering a new vehicle. Advancements in technology have paved the way to some game-changing features such as:
• Centre Airbags
• Adaptive Cruise Control with lane trace stop and go
• Remote Smart Parking and Exit Systems
• Live Blind Spot Video
• Rear cross traffic alert
• 360 Degree View Cameras – with even under car views!
Amelia:
I love my Citroen C3 because it reads speed signs and alerts me of the new speed. I can then press a button to apply the speed limiter so that I don’t go any faster than the limit.
Cathy:
I love the cruise control on my new BMW X1, as unlike others I've had in the past, I can set the distance I want to maintain from the car in front of me. It makes me feel much safer using the cruise!
Kaylah:
I would love a Tesla Model 3, as the dog mode would allow me to take my pooch anywhere and safely leave them in the car while running a quick errand, letting passers-by know they are secure and cool.
We can no longer live without smartphone integration in our cars – connecting us to our favourite tunes, podcasts and destinations while making safe phone calls all in one. However, often it’s those extra thoughtful touches that make a vehicle stand out from the crowd.
Meanwhile, hybrid and electric vehicles continue to climb to the top of want lists.
Gen:
I love the parking sensors in my Land Rover Discovery and I'm also a lover of the third row of seats, which put my children that much further away. I can fade the music to the rear of the car, so I don’t have to listen to the Sing 2 soundtrack on repeat!
Lisa:
I love my Hyundai Tucson as when I reverse the Android Audio goes down so that I can concentrate on not hitting anything or anyone!
Anita:
I love my electric Hyundai Ioniq because I can just plug it in overnight and never have to queue at the petrol station again!
Creature comforts that are proving to be increasingly popular are heated and cooling seats, comfortable electric seats with lumbar support, dual-zone climate control as well as stylish panoramic and electric sunroofs.
Olivia:
Fitting into narrow parking spots most cars can not in my stylish 1999 Mazda MX5 never gets old!
Diana:
I love the mint green colour of the Fiat 500 because it’s so darn delicious!
Helen:
I love how comfortable my Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Exceed is, its leather heated seats that also have auto adjustable lumbar support, so many cup holders and dual-zone air conditioning – no matter how long or short the trip is or what row you are sitting in everybody is comfortable and happy!
We have all had those moments where opening your boot whilst carrying all your shopping suddenly seems impossible – the solution is the increase of many cars featuring Automatic Tail Gates, keyless entry as well as push-button starts making life just that bit easier when our hands are full.
Amy:
I’m coveting the MINI Clubman as the boot opens out to the side, not up, which is much handier for a shorty like me!
Gracie:
My Subaru Forester has the perfect amount of storage when I plan for a beach day with friends. Even when all five seats are occupied the boot can hold all our items comfortably – beach umbrella? No worries.
